Meet DRR Parna Deb Roy

Rtr Parna Deb Roy, born on January 29th in Guwahati, Assam, is the second child of Mr. Basu Deb Roy and Mrs. Pampa Deb Roy. She has an elder brother named Mr. Biplab Deb Roy. Her father is a businessman, and her mother holds a government position. She completed her schooling at Don Bosco Sonaighuli and obtained her graduation degree from Gauhati University.


In her role as the charter president, Rtr Parna Deb Roy established the Rotaract Club of Guwahati East and received the Upcoming Best Rotaractor award in the same year. During her tenure as president, the club achieved the Best International Service award. She actively participated in four physical RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) events and over 70 E-RYLA events, earning recognition as the Best Rylarian in the Centurion International Ryla organized by RI District 3291.


Throughout her presidency, Rtr Parna Deb Roy successfully completed over 220 projects and engaged in more than 180 letterhead exchanges. She also served as part of the outgoing International Dynamic Youth Exchange (IDYE) team for Jashn-e-3141 in the 2019-2020 period.


Under her leadership, Rac Guwahati East hosted numerous Rotaractors from RI District 3282 (Bangladesh) during their visits to Guwahati. She participated in the Felicitation Programme of RIP Rtn Shekhar Mehta in Siliguri and was officially appointed as the Chief Aide to PDG Rtn Dilip Pattnaik by DG 20-21 Rtn Shubashish Chatterjee. This role involved assisting PDG Rtn Dilip Pattnaik, the Chief Trainer for the Pets Sets named Gurukul, held in Guwahati.


As the sole Rotaractor from the district, she attended the 100-year Rotary celebration in Kolkata, known as the Centennial Summit. In the 20-21 period, she served the District as the District Chief Editor and Publication Chair, overseeing the production of one of the district's best directories. Under her editorship, the Rotaract District received recognition from RSAMDIO for the district newsletter 'Golden Wings'.


In 2020-21, she led Rac Guwahati East in jointly hosting the district conference virtually, attracting over 400 delegates. Rtr Parna Deb Roy was honored with 'The Best Rotaractor of 2020-21' award at the Annual District Awards 'Jashn'.


Her involvement in Rotaract continues through fellowship programs. She has participated in the District Awards Nigellus of RI District 3262 and the ICGF organized by RI District 3190. Moreover, she has attended various District Conferences, Award Ceremonies, and Installation Ceremonies across multiple RI Districts, as well as several MDIO (Multi-District Information Organization) events throughout India.


Beyond Rotaract, she actively contributes to numerous other Non-Governmental Organizations, including Robin Hood Army, Smile Foundation, Midway Journey, Just Be Friendly, and Street Animal Welfare.


In her professional life, she serves as a manager in an MNC, overseeing a team of 20 members in the Accounts Payable domain.


Rtr Parna Deb Roy's Rotaract journey continues as a member of the Rotaract Club of Namsai.
