Rtn Nilesh Kumar Agarwal, who hails from the distinguished lineage of Shri Gokul Chand Agarwal and Shrimati Puspa Devi Agarwal, is a Graduate of Commerce and Law from Guwahati University. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Greater Tezpur and his classification is Defence Supplies and Contracts.
Nilesh's journey in Rotary began in 1986 when he joined the Rotaract Club of Tezpur. His commitment and dedication to service led him to serve as the Club's President in 1991-92 and he received the prestigious Best President Award in the District. He then went on to serve the District in various capacities and In recognition of his outstanding contributions, was elected as the District Rotaract Representative in 1997-98. During his tenure as the DRR, he was honoured by Rotary International as the Outstanding DRR.
Nilesh's commitment to Rotary extended beyond his Rotaract years when he became the Charter President of the Rotary Club of Greater Tezpur. He continued his dedication towards the Rotary movement by serving the District in various capacities including Assistant Governor, District Rotaract Committee Chairman, Chairman of Youth Exchange, Chairman of District Awards, Chairman of RYLA, District Secretary of Rotary Foundation, and as Member of various District committees. Under Nilesh's leadership as Chairman of Youth Exchange, the District achieved certification from Rotary International for its participation in all types of Youth Exchange Programs.
His dedication to Rotary has earned him numerous awards and accolades at both Club and District levels. He is Major Donor Level-II and a Multiple Fellow of Rotary District 3240 Foundation. Nilesh's involvement in various other NGOs further showcases his commitment to community service. He is associated with notable organizations such as Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Marwari Yuva Manch, Agarwal Sabha, Chamber of Commerce, Friends of Tribal Society and Red Cross Society to name a few.
Nilesh Agarwal is married to Lakshmi, a Law Graduate. Lakshmi is a Social Entrepreneur and a also Social activist.
She is associated with several organisations including the Inner Wheel Club of Tezpur, which she has also served as
the President. The couple is blessed with two daughters, Tejaswini and Purvi. The entire family of Nilesh, including
Lakshmi and both their daughters are Paul Harris Fellows (PHFs).
As District Governor for RI District 3240 in 2023-24, Nilesh Agarwal is poised to bring his extensive experience, dedication, and passion for service to lead the Rotary community toward greater achievements.
